So Good…..Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treats

How many of you love Rice Krispie Treats? I remember going to my grandpa and grandma’s house in Wyoming as a child. They lived a very frugal life and every time we visited she make these treats only she used wheat puffs. They were good but I like the Rice Krispie ones the best.

This is the perfect no bake recipe that can easily be whipped up in the kitchen when you do not have much time. This recipe uses ingredients that you probably have on hand in your pantry.

Rice Krispie squares are SOOOOOOO GOOD and a nostalgic treat that is so yummy as dessert gets.

INGREDIENTS…

  • Marshmallows
  • Rice Cereal
  • Butter
  • White Chocolate
  • Colored sprinkles
  • Vanilla
  • Salt

Use any kind of color sprinkles that you like but for Valentine’s Day we use pink and red sprinkles.

TIPS…..

  • Heat the butter and marshmallows over low heat so the mixture does not burn or stick to the bottom of your pan.
  • Don’t press the rice krispies mixture into the pan too firmly or they will turn rock-hard.
  • Run some hot water over a knife to make cutting these cereal bars even easier.

Such a fun way to create a treat for Valentine’s Day. Super cute, easy, and delicious treats for the Valentine’s in your life.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups  Rice Krispie cereal
  • 1/3 cup + 2 tbsp 1/3 cup salted butter + 2 tbsp for the chocolate mixture
  • 2 tsp  vanilla extract
  • 1 10 oz.  bag mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup  semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • colored sprinkles, optional

Instructions

  • Butter a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  •  Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows  and stir until they are melted.
  • Stir in the vanilla and salt, then add all of the Rice Krispies cereal. Fold the cereal and marshmallows in until all of the cereal is fully coated.
  • Transfer the coated cereal to your prepared pan. Then I have always put some soft butter on my hands and I pressed the Rice Krispies cereal down until it is an even layer.
  • Set the treats out and let them cool and set for about 1-2 hours before slicing into small rectangles or squares for dipping. (Really you can slice them anyway you would like)
  • Place your chocolate chips into a small microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second increments. Stir between each heating until the chips are melted and smooth.
  • Dip each sliced Rice Krispies treat into the melted chocolate then set aside on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with Valentine day sprinkles.
  • Let the chocolate dry at room temperature (do not refrigerate) for up to 2 hours
  • I hope you love them as much as we do!
