Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted melted butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (plus more for rolling)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla.
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Stir in nuts, if using.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, just until set.
  • Cool for 5 minutes, then roll in powdered sugar. Once fully cooled, roll again for a thick, snowy coating.
