unsalted melted butter

powdered sugar (plus more for rolling)

vanilla extract

unsweetened cocoa powder

finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
Beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla.
Combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Stir in nuts, if using.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, just until set.
Cool for 5 minutes, then roll in powdered sugar. Once fully cooled, roll again for a thick, snowy coating.
