Super Easy Strawberry Crumble

It is one of my favorite times of the year, strawberry season. I have been picking strawberries out in my garden. Today I am sharing a recipe called “Super Easy Strawberry Crumble” and it is so scrumptious!

So, what’s the difference between Strawberry Crisp and Strawberry Crumble?

A Strawberry Crisp has oatmeal in the topping where a Strawberry Crumble Recipe does not. Instead, a crumble topping is simply flour, sugar, and butter.

Pick up some strawberries the next time you go to the grocery store. The rest of the ingredients you probably have in your pantry. Your family will request this recipe often.

I love to make super easy desserts, and this “Strawberry Crumble” couldn’t get any easier. It smells so good while it is baking you can’t wait to have a bite!!

If you do not have access to fresh strawberries you can use frozen strawberries and they work just fine. You family is going to love this dessert!!

INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE STRAWBERRY CRUMBLE…..

FILLING…..

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Vanilla extract
  • Granulated sugar
  • Lemon juice
  • All purpose flour
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • TOPPING
  • Old fashioned oats
  • All purpose flour
  • Light brown sugar
  • Granulated sugar
  • Salt
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Unsalted butter, melted

You can use many types of fresh fruit for this easy crumble recipe. We like to serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

If you have any leftovers just put them in an airtight container and it will keep in your refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

This recipe is always a crowd-pleaser and a delicious treat that delights everyone that eats it. Perfect for those summer picnics.

Ingredients
  

  • 5 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsps cornstarch
  • 2 tbsps lemon juice

TOPPING

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup  (1 stick) melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and grease a large baking dish with butter.
  • Combine the chopped strawberries and sugar in a large bowl and mix well. Add the cornstarch and vanilla extract and stir until all of the strawberries are evenly coated. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a separate medium size bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Pour in the melted butter and stir well until well coated and crumbly. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the top of the strawberries.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until fruit is bubbly and topping is golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
    Serve warm with vanilla ice cream on top.
