🥚 How to Make Perfect Soft-Boiled Eggs

When I was young my mom cooked all kinds of eggs. My dad loved over-easy eggs, my sister only ate scrambled eggs, and my favorite eggs were soft-boiled eggs. There is something magical about a perfectly soft-boiled egg. The whites are tender but set, while the yolk stays rich, golden, and just the right amount of runny.
Soft-boiled eggs can feel intimidating. Cook them too short, and you’ll end up with undercooked whites. Leave them too long, and you’ve got hard-boiled eggs.
But don’t be disappointed if you don’t get the result you want the first, second or even the third time.
Let Me Share A Few Tips for Success…..
- Older eggs peel more easily, but very fresh eggs taste best.
- Start with eggs straight from the fridge for the best results.
- Use a slotted spoon to avoid cracking when lowering into the pot of boiling water.
Ingredients…..
- Fresh eggs (as many as you’d like to cook)
- Water
- Optional: pinch of salt or splash of vinegar (helps prevent cracking)
